Price divided by the 200-day moving average. Trader Trace Mayer popularized it as a quick heat check: historically, buying above 2.4 has been the expensive habit.

How it works

Mayer Multiple = current price ÷ 200-day moving average

Worked example

BTC at $65,000 with a $52,000 200DMA is a 1.25 multiple, inside the normal band. The same price against a $25,000 average would read 2.6, historically frothy.

FAQ

Where do I get the 200DMA?

Any charting site: add a 200-day simple moving average to the daily chart and read the current value.

Is 2.4 a sell signal?

It is a historical observation, not a rule. Multiples stayed above 2.4 for months in strong bulls. Use it as context, not a trigger.
