How it works
next halving block = next multiple of 210,000
time ≈ blocks remaining × 10 minutes
Worked example
At block 910,000 the reward is 3.125 BTC, the next halving lands at 1,050,000, about 972 days out, after which miners earn 1.5625 BTC per block.
FAQ
Why exactly 10 minutes per block?
It is the protocol's target, enforced by difficulty adjustment. Real spacing wobbles, so treat the date as an estimate within a few weeks.
Does halving change my coins?
No. It halves new issuance to miners. Existing balances are untouched; it is supply growth that slows.
How many halvings are left?
Rewards keep halving until around the year 2140, when the last of the 21 million BTC is issued.
